Background/Story
In 2022, I was commissioned to design a new brand logo and car decal for Moggie Minders Ludlow.
Moggie Minder's Ludlow is a professional cat minding service run in the Ludlow area. The cat sitting service's purpose is to provide a cat sitting service in their own home while you go away. -Animal Care & Pet First Aid Trained. The name ‘Moggie’ originates from the Moggie Minder’s Car.
Over a 4-week spam, I created a new logo that best represented Moggie Minders Ludlow for a cat minding service. I created a range of logo concepts and formats for a car decal. Communication was key to the success to drive this freelance project; therefore, I had close contact with the client via email and WhatsApp for sharing designs, gaining dimensions for the car decal, and concepts, and reviewing them to their liking. I also used messaging to ask various close questions about the logo and what was needed with my skills.
Signature Cat
One of the main features of the logo needed to be the clients signature cat which was in the original set up of the business. The logo would be built around this signature cat to make it personal and unique for the place and the client.
Colour theme
It was crucial to have a unique colour pallete which represented a calming, loving, homely and welcoming environemnt which is the main ethos behind the cat minding business.
Type
The font is known as ‘Overlock SC’. Thin curved serif font look is great on cat and pet minding service logo because of the clean, professional looking style. The type draws in the main silhouette of the logo, without drawing to much attention to the type.
